Received this promptly as with all Amazon shipments. There were no instructions, just a paper saying to visit the website to download the most recent installation guide, which I did. Installed, it wouldn't program, I checked with people on a forum which said I probably had the older model, and were using the wrong install manual. I downloaded the older manual, and reinstalled. It wired up very different. It programed and worked. So far it is great, I think they should be more specific on the box as to which instructions to use. Install and programing was easy (using the right manual)If you are buying one of these check and see if it is the newest Firmware. Would have saved me a lot of confusion.

...be aware that these are TWO ohm speakers, whereas the standard normal impedance for car speakers is 4 ohms.

What that means is tha particularly if you have an aftermarket head unit, you will need an external amplifier to run them properly.Most OEM and about all aftermarket head units cannot handle a 2 ohm load by themselves, you risk damaging them without an amp.If you don't want to get an external amp then the Infinity Reference series would be a better choice, they are 4 ohms.

That said, I am running mine off a PPI pcx-480 at 160wpc and they sound great.If you are a basshead you will still need a sub of course, but for my tastes (instrumental & vocal jazz, classical, a little rock) these Kappas provide excellent detail.

My stock speakers (05 Camry) were muddy as all hell, they were full range speakers whereas these have their own external crossovers.I chose a 2-way over 3-way design because I think having one less crossover makes the sound more accurate and natural, that's always been my experience with home audio speakers.

UPDATE: a couple of months later, I regret not simply buying front component speakers (separate tweeter and woofer) like the Polks I have in my truck, there is no comparison---the separation of those 2 drivers yields a huge improvement in sound quality.I should have listened to the guys on caraudioforum dot com and bought front components and a subwoofer to run from my 4-channel amp and abandoned the rear deck speakers entirely.

The seller presented the GP27A battery as in a strip of 5 batteries.The number with the photo also presented a strip of 5 batteries. So based on the photo and model number, I was expecting the strip of 5 batteries.Instead only a single battery was shipped.I think another customer has made this same complaint.I should have taken that review more seriously.But instead went by the photo and number associated with the number ( that indicated the strip package of 5 batteries ).

The battery worked fine, but the seller is giving the wrong impression by showing a photo of the product as being a strip package of 5 batteries.Not too cool.A bit disappointed with this.

Hard to adjust sensors just right, as to not get false alarms, but make it sensitive enough

I would probably buy this system again. I sold the car it was in, so dunno if it still works.

The hardest part is finding a way to get the cable through the floor of the truck. Other than that, I just used cable ties to secure the cable to the frame rails. If you haven't used a rear-view camera before, be prepared for the fact that it faces downward, so you won't see the cars behind you very well when you're backing up. I assume this is normal.

This license plate backup camera works great! The picture is great day or night on my Pioneer Z110BT. The product is well made and sturdy. The only negative is that the install is a little involved. I needed to take apart many of the panels on the inside of the vehicle to run the wire up to the front, and it ended up being just a little too short. I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I was able to run the wire a little differently to get the wire length to work for me. The mounting bolts also must be tightened from the inside of the tailgate, but that does make it highly resistant to theft. All in all, it is a good product and I would buy it again.

Peripheral PLD10 10X RCA Signal Booster Review

I recently purchased the schosche FM-Mod02 FM Modulator to play audiobooks through my car radio with my Sansa Fuze. I had two problems with the modulator.First, The volume level was decreased by the modulator so that even with full volume on my Fuze my quieter Audio Books were hard to hear and I had to turn the volume on my radio way up.Second, I could not charge my fuze while listening because of a serious ground loop problem, as soon as I plugged power in all you would hear is a buzz.
This Booster solved both problems at once.I could easily adjust the volume level on it and reach even higher levels than my radio stations with the radio volume set the same. I can now leave my volume on my fuze set to 75% and get all the volume I want out of the radio volume control.The ground loop problem completely disappeared.I can now charge and listen at the same time.I would highly recommend this product to anyone with a setup like mine.

PYLE PLCM7200 7-Inch TFT Mirror Monitor/Back-Up Night Vision Camera Kit Review

Before install the directions are garbage so look at them once and toss it.It's a pretty simple connection though red= positive, black= negative, green= brake line & the other is obvious video. Installing the back-up camera was of course easy: unscrew the license plate boom your done. Camera power cable just taps into your rear power line from the lights: Check voltage: and run the ground to a good spot and your camera is done. Running the wires was not too much fun but still not too bad just invest in some zip ties to secure the line. Of course mounting the unit on the already there mirror is easy. You sort of have 2 choices on the power: either go with an accessory line as long as you get 12 volts, below that equals a crappy picture. Or you can run the power to your battery and have the choice to turn it off and on every time you get in and out of the car. Please connect it to an ACC power line it will be so much easier. I just ran the ground under the dash where there were other ground wires: easy. Okay got the easy stuff done. Hardest part: Location of your brake wires. Luckily it's usually black and pink. And if you're lucky and have a trailer set up you can just connect into that line under hood or dash and good luck under the dash. Connected my video cables and battery put my ignition in the start position without starting the motor: put her in reverse and boom a nice bright view behind me in the Day Light. After snugging everything down and double checking everything to be on the safety 3rd side it was time to give it a test. During the day it works great and I have a nice clear picture behind me. One thing I noticed is that it doesn't have a too good of a peripheral vision to my right or left but it is acceptable. Okay NIGHT TEST: Went to the Grocery store put it in reverse backing up, Camera was pretty good but keep in mind that is in a well lit up area, I could see clearly behind me people, cars or whatever else would of been there. Now for my NIGHT time parking area: Camera NOT so great dam near a black display, those little LED's just don't have enough light in a dark area to light things up properly. So NIGHT TEST FAILED in a dark area with the one light I park below. Night Vision Camera is a false statement really when you're parking in a dark area. But it did light up the bush behind me when I got about 1 foot or less away and I could see clearly once those little LED's were lighting things up. But still a FAIL in the dark: if you were backing down a dark street and had this you would not see a thing even the street.
Overall not bad for less than $100 especially the screen it's nice and big: Now to figure out everything else on it since the directions were um the crappiest I've ever seen. What's the little speaker for on the back? What are the modes I can't identify? I put this on my Ford F250 HD Get Extra wire if you have a big truck.
Oh, yeah the wire from the mirror is very short I had to run everything down the plastic runners.
A couple hours of install time was worth it. This camera will come in handy. It cost me less than $100. I had to spend some money buying extra wire. But Over all it's a pretty good deal. It's clear picture in the day and well lit up areas. Bad in the dark areas. So it's 80% good 20%bad. maybe I'll do a short video review so people can see it in action.

Audiovox Car XR6900 Two-Way Confirming Remote Start with Keyless Entry Review

I've owned the Prestige (Child company of Audiovox producing the same units) XR6900 for just over a year now.Most of my experiences with it have been good but there are a few quirks.

Pros:

CHEAP!Audiovox is the only REAL competitor with the 6 or so Directed Electronics brands (Viper, Python, etc.) that charge in excess of 3x the amount for a comparable unit.

1-mile range.In my experience the best I've gotten with this in real life is 1/2 mile.You have to remember that 1-mile range means it will work only if you have zero obstructions (either interference or physical obstructions such as trees and buildings) in between you and your vehicle.A half mile is still very significant and allows me to start my car from my apartment through two other apartments.

2-way.Having the ability to verify your car has locked/unlocked/started after you pressed the button is something I have almost come to rely on.When you press the start/unlock/lock button it gives you both a visual and an audible confirmation that the function worked.

1-year warranty:There is a one year warranty on the remotes.I've had to take advantage of it once.My suggestion is to not put too many keys on the keychain with your remote.They can get beat up pretty bad and eventually will stop working.

Vehicle mounted components:Over the past year I have had ZERO issues with the components on the vehicle side.If installed corrected you should be able to install it and forget that they are there.Cons:

Remote The remotes are by no means fragile but they are pieces of electronics.Beat it up too much and it will eventually die.Treat it more like a cell phone than a key.After your warranty has ended a new remote with a screen costs $112 from Audiovox.It's cheaper to buy a whole new system with two remotes here...

2-way quirks:Sometimes the signal will make it to your car but your remote will not receive the confirmation.This always causes me to try again and then I get a signal telling me my car has turned off.I've found that pressing the lock/unlock button after not getting a confirmation of starting will tell my car to send another 'state' signal to my remote and tell me whether or not it actually started.Summary:

All in all this is a GREAT buy for the price.If you're willing to deal with the quirks I stated it's definitely a great alternative to Directed's products.

Python 1601 Security/Remote Start System Review

I have had this alarm for about 7 months and I think Im better off with out it. The key remote to this alarm system is junk. I have bought 4 remotes and only one works at this time. They break real easy. You cant keep them in your pocket because it will reset the alarm. The alarm part is fine its just the key remotes that suck. If you read the book that comes with the alarm, it says that the battery life will last up to 1 year..... You will be lucky to get 2 months out of it. The batterys are up to [...] a pop. Your better off with a poodle in the back seat.

This is a great product. This model seems to be very durable. The picture quality is way better than expected and is clearer than the factory rear view camera on our other car. Low light visibilty is also very good. The one complaint was it didn't come with the Allen head as pictured but regular hex bolts which is not exactly theft resistant. But overall very good product.

I have had the product for more than a year, The distance that you can start your car remotely is very limited and its no where close to what is claimed in the manual, my brother exchanged it with Cobra system which works close to one mile away if i were you i would spend the extra money and get the cobra.

Boyo VTM600M Rear View Mirror with 6-Inch LCD Review

This unit works great with my Boyo CCD license frame camera.The only flaw is when there is direct sunlight the image is difficult to see. When it is darker or at night the image is so clear which reminds me of my Lexus RX with original navigation/backup camera package!!!
